This award provides funding of up to £1,500 for ICE members and up to £6,000 for a group of ICE members to undertake an activity that furthers their professional development and which involves overseas travel.
Previous recipients of the award have:
- Attended international lectures and conferences
- Undertaken projects in developing countries
- Researched local practice
Am I eligible?
- You must be an ICE Graduate or professionally qualified member
- You must have been a member of ICE for at least two years
- Applications must be made in advance of travel and departure must take place a minimum of 4 weeks after the relevant deadline date listed below
- You cannot have more than a total of three ICE QUEST scholarships and/or awards. If you are a previous award or scholarship recipient there must be a lapse of one year before applying again
When do I apply?
Applications are considered twice a year and the deadlines for the 2013 Awards are:
- 26 April 2013 - for travel after 27 May 2013
- 28 September 2013 – for travel after 28 October 2013
Applicants/groups will be contacted with the result within a six week period (starting from the deadline date relevant to their application). This is subject to having received a satisfactorily completed application and reference form(s).
How do I make an individual application?
1. Complete an ICE QUEST Travel Award Application Form and email to quest.travel@ice.org.uk
2. Arrange for a ICE QUEST Travel Award Reference Form to be completed by your employer or someone suitable and emailed to quest.travel@ice.org.uk
All applications will be acknowledged and applicants will then be told when to expect to hear the result of their application.
How do we make a group application?
Each group should designate a group member to be the lead applicant.
1. The lead applicant should complete an ICE QUEST Travel Award Group Application Form and email to quest.travel@ice.org.uk
2. Each applicant should arrange for an ICE QUEST Travel Award Reference Form to be completed by their employer or someone suitable who should then email to quest.travel@ice.org.uk
All applications will be acknowledged and the lead applicant will be told when to expect to hear the result of the application. If your group exceeds 8 members then a second copy of the ICE QUEST Travel Award Group Application Form should be submitted detailing the additional members of the group in Section A of the form.
How will the successful applicants be chosen?
All applications are reviewed by the QUEST Committee, who will consider the following:
- Benefit of the proposed activity
- Value to the applicant(s)
- Future relevance
- Financial situation
The committees’ decision is final and feedback to unsuccessful individuals and groups unfortunately can not be given.
