Appointment:
Chairman of the Scott Wilson Group

Biographical Details:

Geoff is Chairman of the Scott Wilson Group, having joined the firm as a civil engineering graduate from Southampton University in 1968.  During his time with Scott Wilson Geoff has lived and worked in London, Botswana, Plymouth, Hong Kong, Basingstoke and Baghdad, focusing primarily on transport planning and design projects.  When Scott Wilson moved from partnership to limited company in 1995 he was appointed Managing Director, initially of the business in the UK.  He has overseen the growth of the Scott Wilson business in the UK and the major international business centres, ensuring the Group´s continued position in the top ten engineering consultancies.  He was appointed Chairman in 2002 since when the Group revenue has more than trebled and he oversaw the highly successful flotation in March 2006. 

In 2005 he was elected to the Executive Committee of FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers and he is also Vice Chairman of the ACE (Association for Consultancy and Engineering) in the UK.

Geoff is very honoured to have become a Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers in November 2008 and looks forward to contributing to the exciting plans for the continuing development of this famous Institution.
