HR Director
Sandra Parsons graduated from Kingston Polytechnic, now University, in 1993 with a Masters of Arts in Managing Human Resources. Her career commenced at British Telecom where she was accountable for non-engineering recruitment and management appointments for 8,000 employees, before moving to a generalist human resources role at The Prudential.
In 1995 Sandra was appointed into a European wide role at an electronic publishing company, SilverPlatter Information, which was undergoing a change programme moving from providing hardware based solutions to high cost intangible service solutions via the internet. Sandra managed the HR implications such as required skills, knowledge and reward and recognition systems through the organisation´s transition.
She then went on to work for larger organisations on strategic human resources projects at Channel Four Television, Coca-Cola and Starbucks Coffee Company. At Starbucks Coffee Company Sandra facilitated the reward and recognition stream of the company´s drive towards achieving Employer of Choice status. This was followed by a role at British American Tobacco, where she enabled the human resources function's move to a business partnering model.
Before joining the ICE, Sandra spent five years at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) as Head of Human Resources, creating a values based, performance led organisation. Here she devised a strategy aligned to the CIMA's business strategy, which focused on putting CIMA's values, members, customers and employees at the heart of its activities, which was validated by CIMA and gained re-accreditation of Investors in People, under the then new and more robust process.
Sandra joined the ICE in June 2008 and is responsible for enabling the ICE Group to achieve its strategic goals through its people. This will centre around management development and motivating all employees towards higher levels of values based performance, whilst being recognised for their contribution to a challenging yet rewarding place to work.
Sandra has a wide range of interests including playing badminton, practising feng shui and meditation.
