Working with stakeholders from the engineering and aviation industries and the Arup Foresight and Innovation Unit, ICE has produced this set of scenarios showing how UK airports and airport infrastructure could look in 2040.
The scenarios are not predictions of the future. Instead they trace how major social, technological, environmental, economic and political factors might impact on aviation in the years up to 2040. ICE hopes this can instigate a serious debate about the future development of UK airport infrastructure.

Scenarios only
Early in 2010 ICE will publish a new strategic policy document on airport infrastructure. Feedback on the scenarios will be used to produce this report. If you would like to comment, please download the consultation document and return your responses to aviation2040@ice.org.uk by 8 January 2010.
