The 2012 application and subscription fees are outlined in the tables below. These are reviewed annually and the list below will come into place from 1 October 2011.

Please note that the subscription year runs from January to December and subscriptions can now be renewed online via MyICE.

Concessionary Rate - ICE Membership Application Fees

Members or prospective members whose income is £8,000 or less per annum from any employment may be eligible for the Concessionary rate for application fees (2012 Concessionary rate application fees). The concessionary application fee form should be submitted alongside any relevant membership application form.

Entrance fee is charged to those entering any of the grades listed above who have not previously been a member of any subscription-paying grade of membership for at least 2 years directly preceding entrance to the ICE as a professionally qualified Member.

*The entrance fee does not apply to Technician Members (TMICE). 

Concessionary Rate Entrance Fee

Members who have recently been entered into the Institution as a Member, Fellow or Companion and are required to pay the entrance fee but  whose income is £8,000 or less per annum from any employment in 2011 may be eligible for the concessionary rate entrance fee.

* If you hold a qualification which meets the educational base for Engineering Technician (EngTech) (which means a bespoke TMICE course or have a result of an academic assessment with the ICE that has identified that you are eligible for Eng Tech grade of membership) and are looking to become a full Technician Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (TMICE), you could be eligible for a special concessionary rate for Technician Graduates. If you have an academic base that is suitable for AMICE/MICE, IEng MICE or CEng MICE you will not be eligible for the Eng Tech concessionary rate.

Concessionary Rate ICE Subscription Fees

Members who become unable to afford the full membership subscription may be eligible for the Concession rate, which includes full entitlement to journals. This concessionary rate is available to those whose income is £12,000 or less per annum (if you are an overseas member, please check the currency converter to see if you qualify for the concessionary rate), and may be suitable for members who are on career breaks or maternity leave, and those who have been made redundant or are undertaking voluntary work.

The Concession rate must be applied for yearly because it is intended to cover temporary changes in circumstances. Members who are experiencing longer term changes may be eligible for assistance from The Benevolent Fund of the Institution of Civil Engineers. More details are available at www.bfice.org.uk

Retired Rate ICE Subscriptions

ICE members are entitled to a retired rate of subscription if they are aged 60 or over as of 1st January 2011, have retired from full time employment on that date and are earning no more than £12,000 per annum from any employment (if you are an overseas member, please check the currency converter to see if you qualify for the concessionary rate).
