Fellowship Online

We recommend that you consult ICE 3007A before making an application. MGN48 is also available as a checklist of items to prepare beforehand.

Important note before applying

  • There is a 2mb limit per submitted document. If your documents are larger than 2mb and you are unable to reduce the size, please contact the Fellowship Executive: e: fellowship@ice.org.uk or t: +44 (0) 207 665 2174.

  • The preferred format for uploading documents to the online system is via pdf. However, other formats are acceptable, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Jpeg files. The online system will not support multiple files for each document so please ensure that when you upload your CPD documentation, the DAP and PDR are together as one document.

  • In order that your application can be reviewed properly by the Fellowship, please ensure that all documentation is no larger than A4 size, with the exception of the Organisational Chart, which may be submitted as an A3 size document.

What do I need to apply?

  • Your ICE Membership number (if you are a current member of ICE).
  • If (as an ICE member or non member) you are not registered with MyICE, you will be asked to enter personal details, work and home address, and set up a password.
  • The contact details and membership numbers for your three sponsors
  • If you are not currently registered with the Engineering Council and would like to become registered, we will ask you to provide proof of academic qualifications. If you have any queries regarding your Engineering Council eligibility please contact the Fellowship Executive.

In addition to completing the application you will be asked to upload:

  • A detailed CV
  • Professional Development Record covering the last three years and a current Development Action Plan
  • An Organisational Chart

A Project Report of up to 2000 words (for Direct Entry only) Please Note: There is a one hour timeout limit on each page of the online application system. Please move between pages to keep your application active. If you do timeout please refresh the page, or click on the link provided to take you back into the system.

Key dates

  • Please submit your application by the deadline for your preferred Fellowship Panel meeting. These deadline dates are listed in the Fellowship Panel section on the key dates page
  • You will be advised of the Panel’s decision within 10 days of the Panel meeting

Fees

  • A non-refundable Fellowship application fee must be submitted with your application. Please note that there are different application fees for Transfer and Direct Admission
  • On admission as a Fellow, you must pay the ICE entrance fee (unless you are an ICE Member, Associate Member, Technician Member or Graduate member of at least two year’s standing), and an annual subscription fee to maintain your membership.
  • Please note that Members transferring to Fellow will not need to pay an entrance fee.  
  • For Direct Entry applicants seeking Engineering Council registration there will be an Engineering Council entrance fee.
