Engineering Council Organisations (ECO)

The ICE welcomes applications for membership from CEng, IEng or EngTech members of all Engineering Council Organisations (ECO), associated with or working in the built environment. You should be working in the built environment and have at least 2 years registration with EC(UK) through your host organisation to be eligible. Please consult Membership Guidance Note 30 for further information.

To apply via this route please submit the following documents:

A detailed CV - see Membership Guidance Note 15

A certified* copy of your Academic Qualifications
3 copies
A certified* copy of your Institution Membership Certificate 
3 copies
A certified* copy of your EC(UK) Registration Certificate (if applicable)
3 copies
A record of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) showing at least 5 days CPD per year over the last 5 years
Original + 2 copies
3 x Sponsor´s Questionnaire**

An application fee (cheque or credit card payment made payable to Institution of Civil Engineers)

*Certified copies must be "true copies of the original" which are signed and dated by a senior member of your employing company, a corporate member of ICE or one of your sponsors.

Please note: If you have previously been unsuccessful at an ICE Professional Review (within the previous 3 years, prior to this application) you will need to provide an additional statement to show HOW you have rectified the areas you were unable to demonstrate satisfactorily during your Professional Review.  Failure to provide this evidence could result in your application being declined.

Timescale
Applications are considered by the Exemption and Recognition Panel. The panel normally meets four times a year. You will be advised of the outcome within four weeks of the Panel Meeting.
