The starting point for any aspiring member is his or her degree or other educational achievement. The educational base benchmark for each Membership grade is different and usually linked to a formal qualification, although the standard can be satisfied by a number of alternative routes.
The educational base required depends on which grade of membership you are seeking:

*An Associate Member (AMICE), will be required to demonstrate an understanding of technical or scientific rather than engineering principles, but will still be required to demonstrate all the other attributes of a Member (MICE).
