ICE/ICES Mutual Exemption Agreement

ICE welcomes applications for membership from Members and Fellows of the Institution Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES). Applicants must have been an ICES Corporate member for more than 2 years and have worked in the built environment for more than 12 years. 

For full details of the ICE/ICES Exemption Route please refer to Membership Guidance Note 40.

ICE members who have been chartered for 2 years and have 12 years experience in the built environment can become members of the ICES. Full details available on the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors website.

Membership principles

 

To apply via this route please submit the following documents:

Membership Application Form
Original + 2 copies
A detailed CV - see Membership Guidance Note 15
Original + 2 copies
A certified* copy of your Academic Qualifications 
3 copies
A certified* copy of your ICES Membership Certificate 
3 copies
A record of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) showing at least 5 days CPD per year over the last 5 years
Original + 2 copies
3 x Sponsor´s Questionnaire**
Original + 2 copies
An application fee (cheque or credit card payment made payable to Institution of Civil Engineers)

*Certified copies must be "true copies of the original" which are signed and dated by a senior member of your employing company, a corporate member of ICE or one of your sponsors.

For further guidance please contact the Exemption and Recognition Panel Executive at the ICE.

Timescale
Applications are considered by the Exemption and Recognition Panel. The panel normally meets four times a year. You will be advised of the outcome within four weeks of the Panel Meeting.
