The International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) brings together the national organisations from nearly 80 countries for the development of the science and techniques of irrigation, drainage, flood control and river training. Benefits of ICID include information on international conferences, a forum for discussion and dissemination of scientific developments and knowledge and a twice-yearly Bulletin.
The main activities of the British section of ICID.UK are:
- technical meetings for the presentation and discussion of papers, a biennial prize competition
- field visits
- the annual Gerald Lacey Memorial Lecture
- production of a biannual newsletter
The British section has a membership of around 200. The Society welcomes members from all backgrounds who have an interest in irrigation, drainage, agriculture, flood control, or in any related activity.
