Environment and Sustainability

The Environment and Sustainability Board's mission is to drive the application of sustainable development principles into all areas of the ICE's activities.

Recent projects have included:

  • Leading a cross industry team to develop CEEQUAL an assessment and awards scheme for the environmental quality of civil engineering projects.
  • Working with the Joint Board of Moderators on guidelines for sustainable development issues, influencing the way in which ICE accredits degrees leading to chartered engineer status.

Current projects include:

  • Working with ICE staff to develop a Corporate Environmental Policy and management system for the whole ICE Group.
