H&S and CDM 2007 - 'Library' of Supplementary Information
Following the issue of revised CDM Regulations, Approved Code of Practice and industry-produced Guidance for duty holders, the ICE H&S Expert Panel has continued to seek ways of assisting ICE members in their work. This has included providing practical advice and clarification documents, including :
The supplementary co-ordinator information is written to provide further practical advice to those undertaking the CDM-C role and can be considered part of the overall ICE library of support material.
The ICE is keen to hear of feedback on the Industry Guidance so that account may be taken account of this in the expected review during 2008. In particular the ICE will be directly involved in any revision to the Designer guidance. Comments may be sent to Andrew Crudgington who will be managing ICE's feedback processes into the further review/development and improvement of CDM 2007 and its associated Guidance Documents, with the ICE H&S Panel.
Regarding the "Library" information including the Supplementary CDM-C Information, if users have any comments, these too will be welcome, and will be fed back to the author. As is usual with guidance and commentary to legal documents care should be taken in its use. Effort has been has been taken to make these new documents compatible with the leading CDM documents (the Regulations, ACOP and the Industry Guidance Notes), but should any reader of the new "Library" documents consider that there are any conflicts with the leading CDM documents, they should advise Andrew Crudgington. In such circumstances of conflict, the leading CDM documents will prevail until the conflict is clarified.
In issuing this Guidance documents the ICE does not make any warranty, express or implied, that compliance with this Guidance is sufficient on its own to ensure that a CDM Coordinator has complied with its responsibilities under health and safety legislation.
