Regional and global support and networking
ICE has Regional Support Teams (RST) across the UK, providing support and regular information to members as well as raising the profile of civil engineers and ICE in the regions.

Internationally, we have a network of over 90 voluntary country representatives, as well as several local associations providing a range of support and activities for our non UK-based members.

Details of all our UK and international representatives can be found online:

Using the website
The website is our main communication tool and is updated regularly. You can find current news stories and events, plus links to your RST or country representative. The library is accessible via the site, and the downloads library holds many reports and documents that can help you in your professional life.

The personalised MyICE section of the site
Use the members-only MyICE area to update your details, pay your subscriptions, stay informed, network with other civil engineers and share your professional interests.

To make it as easy and environmentally friendly as possible to get in touch with ICE, we are increasing the number of things you can do online:

  • amend contact details
  • inform us of your areas of professional/technical interest
  • pay ICE and associated society subscriptions
  • subscribe to and view journals
  • view/print receipts
  • join MyICE Network and find other members with similar interests
  • opt to renew your subscriptions electronically rather than through the post.
Paying online
Last year over 20,000 members chose to pay their subscriptions online. All you have to do is visit MyICE to pay using a debit or credit card. If you pay by direct debit then you can also view your payment schedule online. If you opt in, we will send you email reminders when your subscriptions are due. Paying online is quick and cuts out the need for paperwork and postage. To cut down paper even more, you can also receive your annual membership pack as a download.

Forums and discussion groups on the web
The knowledge section provides access to a number of specialist discussion groups on issues including history, conservation and philosophy.

ICE is currently developing the specialist knowledge areas of the website. If you would like to share knowledge or to get involved in this process, please contact head of knowledge transfer Mike Chrimes.

Alternatively, if you have specific information needs, contact the knowledge transfer team in the library.

Exhibition for the civil engineering community
Civils is the UK's largest exhibition run purely for the civil engineering community. ICE is a partner for the event, held every November in London. We provide information for members and non members. The event, attended by consultants, contractors and clients, is a great place to network and features seminars, conferences and much more.

Events
ICE's national and regional events and conferences are useful for your CPD and offer opportunities to meet others in the civil engineering community (see staying informed for further information). You can find out what is going on by checking the events pages of the ICE website, your regional or country website and the conferences site.

Retired members
Retired members are very welcome in the Institution. You are entitled to a reduced subscription fee (subject to certain conditions - read more) and will continue to receive NCE or NCEI to keep up with industry news. You are also encouraged to share your experience and expertise.
