ICE publishes widely acclaimed journals packed with authoritative and comprehensive information for professionals and academics in civil engineering and construction worldwide.

Civil Engineering

Most members in the UK can receive Civil Engineering, the principal journal in the ICE Proceedings, free of charge. The journal is published quarterly and is available online to all subscribers. Published in colour, the journal features topical articles and refereed papers across all sub-disciplines, providing lively discussion on a range of topics.

Two Civil Engineering special issues are published each year (May and November), covering a major project or area. 2009 special issues will be on Forensic Engineering and Construction in the Middle East, or Water Transport, or both. These cost £14 in print or £8 online for both.

Submitting papers

ICE journals rely entirely on material contributed by civil engineers and related professionals. Anyone can submit an article: you don’t have to be invited, and submissions from ICE members are particularly welcome. The journals publish short briefing articles (800 words) and papers (2,000 to 5,000 words) on any relevant civil engineering topic. The journals are fully indexed and abstracted by technical libraries and online information resources worldwide.

If you are interested in contributing a paper, please visit our website for full author guidelines and instructions on how to submit.
