ICE has been represented in Australia since 1890, when the first ICE advisory committee to be formed in any part of the world was initiated in Victoria.
In order to be able to best serve our members in Australia, we have four ICE Country Representatives who between them cover six states: Western Australia; Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia; New South Wales; and Queensland. We also have three active committees who help the Country Representatives organise numerous ICE learned society activities and deal with a number of membership issues and enquiries.
In 2007 a Trans Tasman strategy was approved at the ICE APSC Convention in Auckland, this aims to develop a closer set of links between ICE country organisations in Australia and New Zealand. We now have a part time member of staff, ICE Trans Tasman Administrator Jo Conway, who helps coordinate activities across the Trans Tasman and provides assistance and support to the committees in this area. Jo can be contacted at transtasman@ice.org.uk.
