ICE has signed a Statement of Intent with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) to co-ordinate Learned Society events and activities in Europe. The initiative has formalised working arrangements with IMechE and IET so that ICE members in Europe can attend events organised by IMechE and IET as well as those organised by ICE. IMechE and IET members are likewise welcome at ICE learned society events. This gives ICE members more opportunities to network, attend lectures, meetings and site visits in their area.
We have therefore put together a joint Calendar of Events throughout Europe. There are also a few events from other organisations that we thought might be of interest. There are links from the index to the appropriate section for ease of reference. If your country is not included it means that there are currently no events taking place in that area at this time. If you are interested in helping to set up activities in your country then please contact your local ICE Representative. We will be updating the calendar every three months.
A joint survey of European members was undertaken in March 2008 to gain the views of the members on the new initiative and the ways that the three Institutions can best serve them. Although the survey also contained specific questions concerning ICE members, 30% of the questions were the same for all three Institutions. The results of the joint part can be downloaded here.
