Americas Convention 2012
The ICE Americas Convention will be held from the 22nd to 24th March 2012 in New York City. Held every two years in a different location within the region, the ICE Convention provides an excellent opportunity for ICE members, International Representatives and other guests from across the Americas to come together, to share learning and best practice and to listen to expert speakers talk on selected themes. The 2012 Convention theme will be around The Challenges of Urbanisation and we will be welcoming a key note speaker from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to come and talk about the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site. Americas Convention 2010
In 2010 the ICE Americas Convention was held in Vancouver, Canada and the theme was Engineers @ the Heart of Society: Collaborating + Innovating for Our Common Future. Americas Sub-Committee
The ICE Americas Sub-Committee is currently comprised of 12 representatives. These representatives help support the development of links with civil engineering associations in the Americas and assist in raising the profile of the Institution.

In some areas of the Americas, our International Representatives are supported by volunteer committees. For example, ICE members in the north eastern states of the USA are supported by the New York Metropolitan Area Local Association. The association is comprised of members of the ICE now living, working or retired in the North Eastern United States. They organize events, meetings, seminars and functions related to Civil Engineering issues and provide a forum for the exchange of opinions, ideas and information. The ICE West Indies Local Association based in Trinidad and Tobago is committed to promoting the activities of the ICE in the West Indies by building a strong network to sustain the exchange of ideas and knowledge among civil engineers, graduates, technicians, associates and students of the region. The Association is dedicated to encouraging and supporting its members to become professionally qualified and thus increase their contribution, not only to the region but to the world.
