Welcome to the Graduates and Students section
The committee is here to promote the profession to new members throughout the region, to encourage and support our members towards professional accreditation of the ICE. We do this by providing a programme of evening meetings, site visits and social events, covering a wide range of interesting topics from highways design to flood defence; health and safety to construction law; bowling to pub quizzes. We work with the other committees and institutions within the region to create this programme and provide networking opportunities for our members.
The committee organises and runs the regions competitions; papers, communication and 5-a-side football. This gives our members the chance to show case their skills both regionally and nationally.
Most of our events are free and hosted by the region's universities to give both students and graduates the opportunity to attend, whilst boosting their Continuing Professional Development. The committee is always open to ideas and suggestions for ways we can provide more for our members.
Graduate and Student Handbook 2011/12

The Written Exercise is the final part of the Professional Review where candidates for both the CPR and MPR are required to demonstrate their written communication skills by answering one of two questions set for them by their Reviewers.
A number of self-help groups have been set up within the region so graduates who are anticipating sitting their Professional Review within the next twelve months can meet on a regular basis to share ideas, discuss and practice the writing of typical questions.
