Bridge to Schools

The main ICE Ambassador event is Bridge to Schools. The Regional Education Team is presently developing a range of other Ambassador events.

Many activities are run by our partner STEMNET (activities are run on behalf of STEMNET by county based STEMPOINTS and Education Business Partnerships). Please refer to the STEMNET website for more information.

Bridge to Schools
The Bridge to Schools project was successfully launched in 2009. The scheme aims to make children more aware of the work of civil engineers and their contribution to society. The project involves pupils building a 12.5m long cable-stayed bridge within an hour lesson. Bridget Burke, our Bridge-to- Schools co-ordinator, together with our ICE Ambassadors engaged a total of 2849 pupils in the project last year.

Please get in touch if you would like to help out on one of these events as we are always on the look out for Ambassadors. You can contact Bridget directly if you would like to help out on one of the events on embridge@ice.org.uk or if you are interested in her sending you a short video clip taken at one of the events.
