Volunteer

ICE is heavily reliant on the support of volunteers, its active members, to deliver its vision and core purpose. It was recently estimated that over 6000 members actively engage in some form of voluntary activity to support ICE.

Volunteering touches every aspect of ICE's delivery, from formal governance on Council, committees and panels to offering support as experts, or as reviewers. We are continually indebted to volunteers for the time devoted to delivering the outputs identified as priorities by members.

ICE East Midlands are continuously looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Representation on Regional and Branch committees
  • Participation on one of our Professional Interest Networks (Water, Transport, Energy and Waste)
  • Expert speakers at conferences and events – topics have included Low Carbon Infrastructure and Waste Management
  • Supervising Civil Engineers and Delegated Engineers to support and mentor our graduates
  • Ambassadors working with schools
  • Judges for regional awards

If you would like to get involved please complete the expression of interest form – a member of the regional support team will then be in touch
