Come all you budding David Baileys here is an opportunity to showcase your talent.
This is NOT a competition about photography skills. We are simply looking for images we can use to raise the profile of the profession and help the public understand civil engineering.
How to enter:
- Submit up to two pictures.
- We only want images from within the ICE East of England Region i.e. Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Peterborough and Suffolk.
- Please avoid standard pictures of well know structures such as the Orwell Bridge. The judges are looking for something new.
- The pictures must have been taken within 12 months prior to the closing date.
- Please send you photographs electronically (scanned prints are fine) to chris.dodson@ice.org.uk to arrive no later than Friday 31 May 2013.
- Please remember to include: Your name; contact details; details about the picture; type of camera and if appropriate settings used (photography publications request this information in our post event competition coverage.)
The winners will be announced at the Merit Awards Dinner.
Conditions of Entry:
- Entry is not restricted to ICE members.
- Pictures may be enhanced to make them brighter, clearer etc, but the content must not be manipulated.
- The judges reserve the right to exclude any image they believe has been excessively treated altering its authenticity.
- The judging panel will include a professional photographer and a representative from the Graduates and Students Committee. The judges view and vote independently without consultation and may also provide comments/advice which will be fed back to the entrants.
- All entries must be your work and must not infringe the rights of any other party.
- You must own the copyright and you will retain copyright however in entering the competition you are agreeing to ICE retaining your pictures and using them for future promotional and illustrative purposes. If they are used a credit attributing the picture to you will be included. No fees will be payable if pictures are used in this way.
- ICE reserves the right to cancel this competition or amend the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
We are seeking a sponsor for this competition. If you know of a likely sponsor would welcome being involved and receiving promotional opportunities please contact Chris Dodson:
