Our volunteer ambassadors generously give their time to deliver inspirational engineering workshops to students and young people. Through their work they inspire the next generation of engineers and ensure a strong and healthy succession for the profession.
ICE London’s Ambassador of the Year Award recognises and promotes this vital work undertaken by our volunteers.
Eligibility
The Ambassador of the Year Award is open to all ICE members of any grade. The Award will be given for activities undertaken in London schools and colleges during the academic year from September 2011 to July 2012.
The deadline for entries is
24 September 2012.
Selection criteria
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting the civil engineering profession through the work undertaken with schools
- High quality of the events/activities organised by the ambassador and positive impact of these events for the students, teachers and parents
- Potential for the activity to be used by other engineering ambassadors
The prize-giving ceremony for the Ambassador of the Year Award 2012 will take place at the London Region Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 17 October 2012 at One Great George Street. The award winner will be presented with a certificate of achievement and trophy and will also be featured on the ICE website and in e-news articles.
