Treasurer, G&S Committee

Akio’s goal as G&S Treasurer for 2011-12 is to ensure that the committee has the budget to deliver all our commitments in terms of events and competitions.

Akio wants to spend this year looking at and implementing proposals to increase our revenue stream from paid events and (corporate) sponsorship on our high profile events whilst also delivering greater value for money for the London G&S members.

Akio graduated from Bristol University with an MEng in Civil Engineering in 2008.  He then joined Transport for London (TfL) on the Graduate Civil Engineering scheme where he spent three years rotating the company every three to six months to gain a wide range of experience.  Akio also completed a six month design placement at Mott MacDonald’s Bridges department. He has now completed the graduate scheme and taken a permanent role as an investment/modelling engineer – planning, modelling, and value managing where and how TfL spends its budget on its infrastructure assets.
