Committees & branches

ICE North East operates through its Regional Committee made up of members of the branches, interest groups and sections and assisted by the Regional Support Team (RST).

The region is composed of Northumbria and Teesside Branches, Graduates & Students Section, Special Interest Panels, Seniors Group and the Northern Geotechnical Group.

Committee members are volunteers and come from a range of backgrounds within the civil engineering profession. If you would like to volunteer on a committee please contact the chair person of that committee, branch or special interest group.

ICE North East - Chairman, Jason Boddy BEng (Hons) CEng MICE

Jason is a geotechnical engineer by profession, and is currently an Associate in Arup’s Newcastle Office. He joined Arup in 1993 after graduating from Imperial College, London, and worked with Arup Geotechnics in London for 5 years before transferring to their Newcastle Office, in 1998.

Jason has been involved with the Institution locally for over 12 years, initially with the Graduate and Students section, before joining the Northumbria Branch Committee in 2002. He became branch secretary in 2005, and branch chairman in 2009.

Jason strongly believes that the Institution’s members have an essential role to play in informing local and national policies which will shape the future of the region.
