NewcastleGateshead Bridges Festival 2012
ICE North East attended the NewcastleGateshead Bridges Festival 2012 and provided hugely successful interactive sessions with young visitors to the event.
Showcasing the valuable work of Civil Engineers, and demonstrating how Civil Engineers design, build and maintain the world around us and make our day to day activities possible, ICE North East interacted with hundreds of visitors to the two-day spectacular.
Information was provided on careers in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry and workshops building paper tube bridges were a huge success!
Children experienced bridge building at first hand, and then wearing hard hats and high visibility vests each child had the opportunity to load their bridge and test their engineering skills!
Feedback we have received from children and parents has been fantastic and we hope we have inspired the civil engineers of the future…!
