Written Assignment Group Spring 2012
The ICE Written Assignment Group (WAG) is to restart again soon in preparing the next batch of engineers in time for the Spring 2012 Review Season. The group has a base in Manchester, where physical meetings are held at the CUBE, Portland Street, Manchester, as well as locations in other UK ICE Regions. The WAG will also continue to provide an ‘online’ element in sync and conjunction with the physical meetings as it has done for the past two years. It is held in the form of a discussion forum (via www.Linkedin.com) and an Online Cloud Server (via www.humyo.com).
The main structure when attending the ICE WAG physically in Manchester is that a presentation is provided by the host/guest, followed by splitting the attending group to answer a typical question in the form of a mind map session. The attending people will then provide a brief presentation and receive feedback. After the session, attendees can answer at least one question on the topic they recently attended by preparing a draft mind map or essay and can email it to ice.nw.wag@gmail.com before the next session starts. This would then be password encrypted and a password would be sent to provide further access on the ICE WAG Cloud Servers’ vast database, containing other people’s numerous efforts and also obtain brief feedback on their submission.
Those who cannot make it to the physical sessions, either through work commitments or long distance travelling, can virtually attend through accessing the presentation notes, questions and submit the draft assignments as above.
Chris Wood will lead the physical sessions in Manchester, North West whilst Jonathan Han leads the physical sessions in the Herts & Beds Region, East of England and maintains the LinkedIn Group Online. Peter Hallsworth will be a main contributing speaker at Manchester Branch and will review all submitted draft essays and/or mindmaps of each of the five topics. All three are contactable via the LinkedIn Group (http://linkd.in/uWaQk2), or via email at ice.nw.wag@gmail.com.
