Building Information Modelling - Planning for the future

Rebecca Hodgson-Jones and Eddie McGowan represented ICE Scotland at the first meeting for Scotland's BIM hubs.

ICE was the only professional industry body represented at the Construction Industry Council (CIC) meeting. CIC are working with the Government's BIM Task Group to establish the 11 BIM hubs thoughout the UK. The hubs will raise awareness of the benefits of BIM to the industry as a whole and facilitate the early adoption of BIM processes and working methods throughout the UK's construction industry.

The meeting focussed on the aspirations of the Scotland BIM Hubs and methods for enabling BIM in Scotland. The need to raise awareness of BIM and provide practical examples of its application dominated discussions as did ways of engaging Academia and advising the Scottish Government.

This page will be updated with more information about the development of the Hubs as it becomes available.
