Exhibitions & Archives

The aim of the subcommittee is to preserve, maintain and ensure the accessibility of the Glasgow & West of Scotland Branch archive.

In addition, the subcommitte aims to support the development and staging of exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, which celebrate the profession of civil engineers and promote the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The subcommittee members are currently working on a new trail leaflet featuring landmarks of engineering interest in Paisley. These include many road bridges in the town constructed during highway realignment works undertaken the 1960’s and 70’s, rail viaducts, the Glasgow to Johnstone canal/railway and the Well Street gasworks.

The subcommittee is in the process of preparing the walk leaflet with details of the structures of note and would be grateful for any knowledge or information of the works held by the ICE members.

If any members have any knowledge or information relating to any civil engineering works in Paisley, please contact Roger Minto by telephone on 0141 204 8911 or by email at roger.minto@fairhurst.co.uk.
