Lectures online

Attending technical meeting and lectures at a time convenient to you

The branches within ICE Scotland provide an invaluable wealth of material relating to civil engineering. However, regularly these meetings may not be practical to attend in person because of timings, geography or the busyness of everyday life!

ICE Scotland was one of the first regions to use Interwise to broadcast online some of the events it holds. These are both transmitted live and recorded for access after the event. The technology has already been used for several years to transmit events from One Great George Street (www.ice.org.uk/lectures). In 2008 the Dundee Branch started broadcasting events and this was shortly followed by Edinburgh. Now the archive of events from both branches is available for most past events; follow this link to the Lecture Archive.

It has been well used, with people both signing in to listen to events live from the comfort of their office or home and listening to lectures after the event. There is even the opportunity for people online to ask questions to the speaker and receive a response in the Q&A session
