State of the Nation Scotland

ICE's State of the Nation reports are compiled each year by panels of expertsdrawn from the various fields of expertise across ICE's membership. The reports aim to stimulate debate and highlight the actions needed to improve the state of the UK´s infrastructure.

In addition to inputting to UK reports, ICE Scotland produces stand-alone briefings which reflect the devolved nature of decisions in relation to transport, water and waste and the different approaches being piloted in relation to energy policy.

State of the Nation 2013: Transport

Our next report will look at the state of the UK's transport infrastructure, to inform government policy and decisions through this electoral cycle and beyond.

Much has changed since our last State of the Nation:Transport report in 2008, with recent public debate dominated by the future of our airports and the opportunities and challenges presented by high speed rail.  A short briefing summarising the current transport situation is available to download as guidance.

Members, external organisations and experts are invited to respond to submit their responses to the call for evidence by 13th February. The evidence gathered will help inform ICE’s position and it will be followed up with interviews, workshops and further research as appropriate, before publishing findings in late June.
