ICE South East England region has dedicated staff members who are employed by ICE to support our volunteers and promote the Institution's work in the region. They are organised into two teams:

Membership Team
– the regional membership team supports individuals working towards their professional engineering qualifications.  They work with colleges and universities to help students understand the importance of professional recognition and the benefits of membership; they guide Graduate engineers through the professional qualification process, and encourage professional development for Technician members; they are responsible for signing off training schemes and supporting Supervising Civil Engineers (SCEs) and Delegated Engineers (DEs) within companies; and they offer advice to our most senior members when they are applying to become Fellows. This team looks after members both in South East England and in London.

Regional Support Team – the RST supports ICE volunteers in organising events and activities for ICE members in South East England. They help to promote engineering careers in schools and to young people; to organise a varied programme of learned society events, seminars and prestige lectures; they help run the annual Engineering Excellence Awards and associated dinners, to promote the best of civil engineering in the region; and they champion ICE’s public voice in the region, through work with local politicians and the media.

Meet the team

Contact us

My current role with the ICE as an MDO for the Thames Valley, brings together a large number of my skills, providing wide ranging advice to companies and individuals on the processes and routes to become professionally qualified.

I developed my career from an Engineering apprentice through Research & Development roles, to Project Management in Construction.

More recently I was responsible for graduate development and learning programmes at all levels. I have worked across a wide range of organisations from Oil and Gas, Manufacturing and Local Government providing both engineering support and professional development advice.

In addition to being an engineer, I am also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and as such I can’t emphasise enough the importance of being professionally qualified in your chosen field of work.

Outside of work I enjoys cycling, off road mountain biking, sailing, model making and holidays preferably near the sea or walking in the mountains.
