Get involved

We need your help to bring the ICE global vision to life: Civil Engineers at the heart of society, delivering sustainable development through knowledge, skills and professional expertise.

ICE volunteers support a range of activities, including:

  • organising technical meetings and social activities
  • organising competitions and judging awards
  • guiding and supporting our work with local schools and colleges
  • helping with press releases and media activity
  • developing or commenting on regional policy statements
  • meeting local MP’s and other decision makers
  • writing articles or taking photographs for regional newsletters
  • liaising with other professional groups
  • planning and supporting the President’s visit to the region

We need people who can make a commitment, however small, and who deliver on their promises. In return, we hope you will have fun, develop a wider network of friends and colleagues, improve your skills and experience – and have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a contribution.

Your local committee

One of the best ways to become involved is through one of your local committees – either the main local organising committee, the graduates & students committee or one of the special interest groups.

My experience

Get involved

I've been volunteering with ICE for several years now. During that time I've been lucky enough to meet some great people and get involved in events outside of my normal work life.  I'd highly recommend volunteering for ICE to anyone in the industry.
