South Environment and Sustainability Group

The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) has recognised the importance of the environment and its contribution to the quality of life of those who live and work in the region. At the same time, the potential for economic growth is considerable.

Balancing these potentially competing pressures to deliver a long term sustainable solution to economic growth presents a major challenge for the construction industry. Civil engineering has a major contribution to make to this process as both a major employer and generator of wealth and as a profession, with the technical skills to deliver major improvements to the built and natural environment.

The objective of the Environment and Sustainability Group is to help members of ICE South understand these varied and complex issues, and make a full and sustainable contribution to the growing prosperity of the region.

If you are interested in being a member of this Group or if you have any issues you would like to raise, then please contact Andy Finch at afinch@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
