The club was founded in 1986 to provide a social meeting place for retired chartered engineers and a means of keeping members in touch with achievements and developments in the engineering professions.
Membership is open to chartered engineers resident in the South West and currently includes over a hundred representatives from aeronautical, civil, electrical, gas, marine, mechanical, structural and other disciplines.
Ordinary meetings are on the second Monday of each month in the ISCA Centre, Summer Lane, Exeter. This is a comfortable venue with many facilities including extensive car parking, a bar and a dining area where light refreshments are available.
Meetings commence informally with coffee in the lounge and at 10.30 am. members convene in the bridge room for short reports concerning club business. This is followed by a presentation on a subject of engineering interest.
Technical visits are arranged regularly and members enjoy social events at a variety of venues.
Prospective members are welcomed as guests at club events.
