Historically, in 1984 the Institution of Municipal Engineers was merged with the Institution of Civil Engineers, and an Association of Municipal Engineers was formed as a sub-division of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Today, AME South Wales is a Specialist Group established within, and in accordance with the Constitution of, ICE Wales Cymru to promote the specialist area of Municipal Engineering.
The Group arranges meetings of a professional nature, for the presentation of papers and lectures. It also arranges visits to works and places of engineering interest.
