The Graduate and Student Papers Competition is held every year to promote and reward excellence in the communication of civil engineering issues and ideas.
Papers may be on any topic of interest to civil engineers, from a university design or research project to a quarterly report, year in industry or construction site report.
The winning paper will receive a cash prize and will be put forward for the national final.
Previous titles have included:
- Design and Construction of the New King’s Cross Station Footbridge
- Green Domestic Heating
- Improving Communication on Construction Sites with the Aim to Improve Health and Safety
- Strain Hardening and Second Order Effects in Steel Frames
- The use of 3D Modelling in Geotechnical Engineering
Competition timeline:
Friday 7 December 2012 - Closing date for abstracts
Friday 21 December 2012 - Shortlisted candidates notified
Thursday 31 January 2013 - Regional Final
