Who is eligible to undertake the IoD/ICE Diploma in Company Direction?
The IoD/ICE Diploma in Company Direction is for directors and senior managers who hold or aspire to hold director level roles within consultants, contractors, clients and the associated businesses that comprise the civil engineering and construction industries.
How long does the programme last?
The programme is designed to be completed in approximately six months. The learning process requires that participants attend a number of study days – 13 in total, plus two days compulsory post course e-learning.
How much does the Diploma in Company Direction cost?
The IoD/ICE Diploma in Company Direction is available to ICE members at the special price of £8,000 ex VAT. This includes enrolment and tuition fees, 12 months´ IoD membership, all course materials, refreshments and lunch on study days and the examination fees. Applicants must pay for the whole programme in advance. The price for non-ICE members is £9,000 ex VAT.
Where are the study days being held?
All study days will be held in London. Study days commence at 09:00 and finish at 17:00. Refreshments are available throughout the day and lunch will be served at around 13:00. There are no additional charges for lunch or refreshments. Full details on arrangements will be provided after booking.
How is the examination structured?
The examination consists of multiple choice questions testing the candidate on the full range of the modules studied as well as some fundamental cognitive skills. Several questions will relate to a chosen case study.
A candidate must obtain an overall pass mark in order to be awarded the Diploma. Those who do not reach the required percentage will be allowed to retake the examination if they wish. In the event of a retake being required, areas of weaknesses will be indicated and a further examination fee is payable.
If I pass the Diploma examination do I become a Chartered Director?
No. Passing the Diploma examination proves you have the requisite knowledge to apply for Chartered Director. To become Chartered, a professional review with the IoD will be required. For full details visit the IoD website.
