Professional Review

The Professional Review is the third and final stage in becoming a Professionally Qualified Member. 

If you have completed an ICE approved training scheme, successfully undertaken a Career Appraisal, or for technicians, completed an approved S/NVQ, you may apply for the Professional Review at the level appropriate to your educational base.

How to apply for Professional Review

Candidates are required to submit specific documents and supporting information in accordance with the application procedures stated in Appendix B of the following documents:

Professional Review - making an application

  • Complete the Professional Review Application Form - ICE 3103
  • Obtain the support of 3 Sponsors (2 for TMICE). Each sponsor must complete – ICE 3123 Sponsor Questionnaire
  • Include evidence of completion of IPD either by an approved ICE/HKIE(Civil) Training Scheme, ICE Career Appraisal, or for TMICE, completion of an approved S/NVQ
  • Proof of academic qualifications
  • One page Summary of your Experience Reports
  • One page Summary of your Project Report
  • Relevant Application Fee (non-refundable)

Review Centre locations

ICE is an international organisation and therefore strives to accommodate applicants from all over the world. Professional Reviews are held at a number of centres across the UK and around the world. Full details of the centres available can be found on the key dates page.

If you would like to attend a Professional Review in a location other than those listed on the key dates page, please state this as an alternative on your application form. Your request will be considered but cannot be guaranteed as this will depend on candidate numbers and availability of Reviewers.

Fees

  • A non-refundable application fee must be submitted with your application
  • On admission as a Member, you must pay the ICE entrance fee (unless you are an ICE graduate member of at least 2 year’s standing), and an annual subscription fee to maintain your membership
  • For Engineering Council registration, you will be required to pay the relevant entrance fee, then an annual subscription fee to maintain your registration.
