The IntPE professional qualification is awarded by the Engineers Mobility Forum, and the IntET professional qualification is awarded by the Engineers Technologist Mobility Forum, both of which are part of the International Engineering Alliance.
The UK national member of these bodies is the Engineering Council.
International Professional Engineer (Int PE)
Eligibility criteria
- Chartered Engineers with 7 years post-graduate experience may be eligible to register for the Int PE title.

International Engineering Technologist (Int ET)

- Incorporated Engineers with 7 years post-graduate experience may be eligible to register for the Int ET title.

The application process
- Download and complete the application form for your chosen title as indicated above.
- Email it with the fee and supporting documentation to erp@ice.org.uk
Assessment process
- Your application will be checked and submitted to ICE’s Exemption and Recognition Panel. Please check the submission dates for applications to this Panel and submit your application by the appropriate date.
- Subject to ICE approval, your application will be forwarded to the next Engineering Council international registration committee which awards the title on behalf of the Engineers Mobility Forum. This committee meets four times a year.
- Please allow a minimum of 6 months from the submission of your application to ICE, to receiving the decision on your registration.
IntPE or IntET seeking ICE membership
Please note that there are no exemptions or streamlining for ICE membership for those registered as IntPE or IntET. You will need to follow the route to membership relevant to your circumstances.
