Sustainable community development

In the 21st Century, sustainable community development is less a goal than a dynamic process of working with the resources and information at hand.

This part of the Municipal Engineering Case Studies section attempts to highlight examples from across the world, specific communities that have made significant developments in relation to implementing sustainable lifestyles.

The examples highlighted, showcase communities that have utilised their natural surroundings, and implemented successful municipal waste, recylcling, energy and transport policies to best implement sustainable living in the urban environment.
