CEEQUAL offers a range of training courses designed to prepare individuals of varying knowledge to a high standard in order to undertake a formal verified CEEQUAL Assessment.
Training courses to gain accreditation as a CEEQUAL Assessor are held regularly throughout the UK, and internationally upon request. Click here for more information.
Assessor training comes in two parts: a two-day Assessor training course, and mentoring from the CEEQUAL Verifier when an Assessor undertakes their first Assessment. Attendees at the courses will learn about: what the CEEQUAL award scheme is and why it has been developed; the scheme and process in detail; use of the appropriate CEEQUAL Manual; basic skills required and the role of the Assessor; the economic, environmental and social issues covered by the scheme’s methodology; detailed study of each Manual section including the nature of the questions, reasons for their inclusion and scoping-out advice; and the Assessment and verification process. Courses end with a test and attendees will need to score above a desired threshold in order to be CEEQUAL accredited. The subsequent mentoring reinforces and refreshes the messages in the training course.
CEEQUAL scheme is available in two forms: for Projects (with two Assessment Manuals: for UK & Ireland Projects and for International Projects); and for Term Contracts (also with two Manuals: for Maintenance, and for Multiple Small New Works Undertaken Together). Therefore, Assessor training is similarly split into Projects (incorporating UK & Ireland, and International Projects) and Term Contracts (currently only for UK & Ireland-based contracts).
Once an Assessor is trained in one of these disciplines, he or she would need to complete a one-day extension course in order to undertake the other type of Assessment. Likewise, if an Assessor wishes to undertake an Assessment using a newer version of the Methodology beyond their training, he or she will need to complete an update course to familiarise themselves with the latest industry best-practice.
