ICE is commited to making access to information about the archive collections available online through a number of means and partnerships.
This page provides links to ICE archive lists and catalogues currently available either online or as downloads.
ICE is currently working with ancestry.co.uk to make the application forms of members who joined before 1930 available online. This is a large project involving photographing over 50,000 documents relating to about 19,000 early members.
There is a download document containing membership details for ICE members who joined up to 1886 available.
The following collections are available through Access to Archives:
Thomas Telford reports. Papers of ICE's first President relating to his engineering works.
Thames Tunnel papers. Papers relating to Marc Isambard Brunel's tunnel built 1825-43, the first successful subaqueous tunnel in the world.
John Rennie reports 1790-1821. We also have his son Sir John Rennie's reports and letter books which are indexed in each volume
Original Communications - Papers submitted for presenting at ICE meetings and either not presented or presented but not published.
William Mackenzie collection relating to the Victorian railway contractor. There is more material, mainly loose papers, which is still undergoing conservation and will be listed separately.

David Rowell and Company papers relating to wire rope suspension bridges
Richard Moreland and Son Limited List of material (1796-1965) mainly relating to steel structures, with some earlier material relating to patents
Colin Slaughter papers. Material relating to various hydroelectric power schemes including Indus Valley, Bangladesh, USA, Ghana, Thailand and Greece 1957-93
Collected papers. This list includes individual items and small collections presented to the ICE. Photographs and audiovisual material appear at the end of the list.
