Information systems expert panel

The Information System Panel works to explore developments, cooperate with academia and special interest groups, support standards groups, and influence and foster best practice in using information systems.

The panel brings together representatives from across industry including consulting engineers, contractors, government, asset owners, and software vendors. It has also developed a network of industry contacts that offer a wide view of the use and development of information systems to advise and direct the panel.

The panel represents the ICE on the British Standard 555 Committee that develops and publishes standards for collaborative working and Computer Aided Design (CAD).

It also represents the ICE on the Construction Project Information Committee which is responsible for Uniclass Standards and publishing guidelines for production information.

The panel is very much involved with assisting government in delivering its BIM Strategy. Please view the Building Information Modelling section for further information.

In developing outputs for the panel a Capacity and Skills workshop was held earlier in 2012. Marek Suchocki represented the IS Panel and a report is available here.
