The HM Treasury led Infrastructure Cost Review is a government-industry programme with the goal of reducing the whole life cost of major projects by 15-20% by 2015.
It complements the £200B long term investment plan set out in the National Infrastructure Plan 2011
The Infrastructure Steering Committee (ISC) is a group of leading Clients, Consultants, Contractors and Academics, chaired by ICE Past President Peter Hansford and is the focal point for industry input into the review.
The ISC and its sub groups produces analysis of cost drivers, guidance to practitioners and recommendations to government all aimed at improving the efficiency of infrastructure delivery.

The ISC has produced a report, entitled Specifying Successful Standards, which examines how standards and specifications can enable the UK to innovate, lower costs and improve whole life value of its infrastructure asses.
