Port designer's handbook, 2nd edition
An updated new edition, giving essential guidance and recommendations for the layout, design and construction of modern port structures. This edition incorporates changes in the design of port and berth structures, as well as the latest developments in navigation safety, port planning and site selection, layout of container and oil and gas terminals, cargo handling, and fender and mooring principles. It also covers the evaluation of operational conditions due to the impact from wind, waves and current loads on port and berth structures, and berthing and layout criteria for ships in channels and harbour basins.

Future flooding and coastal erosion risks
This book presents a comprehensive insight into the flooding system. It forecasts the manner in which flooding and coastal erosion risks may increase during the 21st century and examines the intergrated measures necessary to manage future increases in risk, through sustainable methods. Content includes: drivers of flood risk, assessment of flood risk drivers, coastal erosion drivers and risks, responses to future flood risks, assessment of flood risk responses, responses to coastal erosion, sustainability and governance.
C Thorne, E Evans and E Penning-Roswell.
Published January 2007.

Offshore geotechnical engineering
All major aspects of the subject are covered in depth, including offshore site investigation, surveys, soil mechanics, jackups, jacket platforms, gravity platforms, pipelines, artificial islands, wind turbine support structures, and deepwater solutions. Plus there is extensive practical guidance on the assessment of geohazards and site-specific soils data, and on how this is applied to the design, installation, maintenance and eventual de-commissioning of offshore structures and their foundations.
E T Richard Dean.

Maritime Engineering Proceedings
This regular peer-reviewed ICE journal features technical papers relevant to maritime civil engineering activities in estuaries, along coastlines and at offshore locations. Topics include social and economic aspects relating to fixed and moving port and harbour developments, estuarine and coastal protection, habitat creation and maintenance, seabed pipelines and tunnels, oil, gas and mineral extraction facilities, and alternative energy production systems.
