Consultations considered

There are many initiatives and developments within Government, which will affect transport engineers and, indeed, the transport infrastructure of the UK.

This section of the website aims to inform ICE members of the transport initiatives and policies currently under consultation, and allows you to have your say on ICE policy and the Institution's consultation response.

Recent consultations that have been completed by ICE's Transport Panel include:

Devolving local major transport schemes

The Government produced this document to develop a discussion and invite submissions on a new system of prioritising and funding for local major transport schemes. A new system, once in place, will enable construction to begin after the end of the current Spending Review period – 2014/15.

DfT Analysis

The analysis of submitted evidence has now been completed, which revealed that two of the most important issues where greater clarity was sought from DfT was on funding allocations and how they interact with LTB geography, particularly in areas where there are overlapping LEPs.
