It uses cycle ways in and near Bedford, and quiet country roads outside Bedford.

A longer ride is possible on minor roads from Great Barford through Thurleigh, past Milton Ernest Water Tower, over Radwell, Felmersham and Harrold bridges to Stevington Windmill and Bromham mill and bridge before returning to Bedford on cycleways, but it is 42 miles overall.
