Maritime Expert Panel

The Maritime Panel provides technical knowledge in key areas such as coastal erosion, flooding, offshore energy, ports and inland navigation.

The Maritime Expert Panel supports our key learned society objectives of policy consultation, knowledge provision and thought leadership. The panel works with our staff to deliver outputs focusing on key areas in the sector including coastal engineering and management, dredging, flood risk management, offshore engineering, ports, harbours, and docks.

    Maritime Expert Panel

    Nick has eighteen years' experience in the field of land and water management in the UK and internationally, and has for ten years led on coastal management at the Environment Agency's national Flood and Coastal Risk Management Directorate. He has chaired the Maritime Panel since 2018, and key Panel events such as the 2019 international Coastal Management conference in La Rochelle, and the Panel's biennial Vernon Harcourt Lecture.
