We are missioned to promote engineering professional development culture in East Asia regions for civil engineering and other professionals work for the built environment. We commit to serving the public, organisations, and individuals to develop engineering and professional talents. We extend ICE service to local regions and develop highly customised services to support local engineering communities and individuals. We strive to uphold high professional standards and excellent practice.

We aim to support individuals to become professionally qualified and recognised for their highest potential. We try our best to provide diverse and inclusive Initial Professional Development (IPD) paths to suit individuals from different academic and practice backgrounds who seek to fulfil the pre-requisites for professional reviews (TPR / IPR / CPRP / CPR)*

  1. ICE Training Scheme (ICE-TS) – structured training provided by ICE approved local employers
  2. Mentor Supported Training (MST) – guided training provided by ICE approved local IPD-Mentors
  3. Career Appraisal (CA) – self-managed training and professional development recognised by ICE
  4. Technical Report Route (TRR) – mature work experience equivalent to academic and professional competency recognised by ICE
  5. Mutual Recognition (MR) – academic and professional qualifications through mutual recognition among academic and engineering institutions
  6. Experiential Learning (EL) – on-work learning outcome equivalent to academic competencies at Bachelor's and/or Master's level recognised by ICE
  7. ICE Further Learning Exam (FLE) - on-work learning outcome plus assigned studies equivalent to academic competencies at Master level recognised by ICE
  8. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) – self-managed and well-structured process for professional career development in parallel to the above IPD paths and stages.

* TPR - Engineering Technician (EngTech) Professional Review does not require the above IPD. They are required exclusively for applying for IPR - Incorporated Engineer (IEng) Professional Review, CPRP - Chartered Engineer (CEng) Professional Review Progressive, and CPR - Chartered Engineer (CEng) Professional Review.

Membership Development Officer

Mario develops and manages the delivery of service for the ICE IPD paths.

He recruits and supports approval of Employers and their SCEs for ICE-TS and IPD-Mentors for MST, as well as verifies Trainees on their progress and training completions.

He develops and delivers general and customised professional development training for organisations and individuals.

He also provides in-depth consultations to members facilitating their career development towards professional qualifications and ICE professional membership.

For individuals on professional assessments and reviews, by internal referrals, he provides pre-assessment consultations and post-assessment supports.

Membership Support Officer

Jessica provides general information and consultations to individuals and employers on the ICE Professional Membership paths, and supports their applications to training, assessments, and membership.

She organises local IPD training events and meetings to support professional development service.

She supports the MDO on delivering satisfactory customer service.

Wan Kai Hong

Regional Director - ICE Hong Kong

Hong leads the Regional Support Team and is responsible for supporting the Regional Committee in delivering the business plan. This includes raising the profile of the profession and infrastructure in general with key stakeholders, organizing regional events and supporting members with their Fellow applications.


Jenny Chan

Senior Executive Officer

Jenny is responsible for looking after general office operations, working with other colleagues to provide secretariat service to ICE and IMechE Committees in Hong Kong.

Crystal Fung

Executive Officer

Crystal is responsible for supporting ICE HKA and G&S Committees, including meeting and event arrangements.
