Project awards

Ranging from a community award to sustainability and innovation to multi million pound projects, these awards celebrate improvements across our region.

Tilbury Dual Function Lock Gate Project

(TEAM 2100, Port of Tilbury London Limited, Jacobs, Environment Agency, Balfour Beatty)

The judges were particularly impressed by the project team's outstanding collaboration during very complex operations, often with limited historic data and tight time constraints. The team evidenced exceptional planning, technical, and communication skills to deliver effective solutions, safely and sustainably, under pressure. A shining example of civil engineering at its finest.

Ouse Washes S10 Works, Mott MacDonald

The judges were particularly impressed by the numerous constraints Mott MacDonald had to manage, including COVID and the remoteness of site. Their mitigations of these were sound. H&S was fantastic and the enhancement of the area was clear to see.

The way they planned and delivered a very complex project over a long timescale, successfully dealing with multiple constraints, whilst successful delivering a project that enhanced the physical environment and provided a project outcome that benefited the local community and multiple stakeholders contributed to their win.

Eliminating reliance on diesel generators through hydrogen fuel cell technology, Jackson Civil Engineering

The judges were particularly impressed by the way Jackson Civil Engineering’s submission demonstrated innovation and practical applicability, aligning well with the spirit of the awards.
